Microsoft · Senior Software Engineer, L63/64 equivalent (10 years)
Rounds
- 45-min live technical phone screen over Microsoft Teams with one engineer (screening on behalf of the hiring manager). ~10 min background, ~5 min AI/culture discussion, ~25 min live coding in a shared editor (not HackerRank this time, a simple shared whiteboard-style editor you can run), ~5 min Q&A. “Frontend” title, but the coding round was pure data structures, no React.
Questions asked
- Background: “Walk me through your past projects / experience.”
- “I see you’ve adopted AI in your workflow, how do you use AI in your day-to-day?”
- Coding: Build a Doubly Linked List from an array. Define a doubly linked list to store integers. Given an array of integers, construct a doubly linked list from it, then print the list starting from the head node.
Input: [9, 3, 4, 5]
Output: 9 <-> 3 <-> 4 <-> 5
Tips
- Don’t skip DS basics even for frontend roles. Have a concrete answer ready for how you use AI day to day.
